To download Probably Stolen, use Steam. Before October 28, 2026, install the free Demo from its own Steam page. From October 28, the full game is available from its separate Steam listing. Sign in to Steam, use the install button on the listing, choose a library location, and launch the game from your library. Our research found no official standalone installer, mobile APK or native Mac download, so treat any third-party reupload as unofficial.
At a glance
| Official source | Steam only |
|---|---|
| Demo | Free, app 4349200 |
| Full game | App 4348910, from Oct 28, 2026 |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Storage | 1 GB |

The two official listings
Probably Stolen has two separate Steam apps. The full game is app 4348910, titled "Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim". The free Demo is app 4349200, titled "Probably Stolen Demo".
Make sure you are on the right page. The Demo installs separately and does not unlock the full game. Check that the developer is Questing Goose Studio and the publisher is tinyBuild.
Step by step on Windows
Open the Steam client or the Steam website and sign in. Go to the Demo page, or the full game page after October 28. Use the listing's install or play button.
Steam asks you to choose a library location. Confirm, let the download finish, then launch the game from your Steam library. That is the whole process; there is no separate launcher.
System requirements
Steam lists these minimum requirements for both the full game and the Demo. They are listed requirements, not a guarantee of performance on every machine.
| Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i3 or equivalent |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 650 Ti equivalent or higher |
| DirectX | Version 10 |
| Storage | 1 GB available space |
Monitors and aspect ratio
The Demo listing notes that Probably Stolen is a pixel art game with a natural 16:9 aspect ratio. It plays fine on 21:9 and 32:9 monitors, but runs in a window. The developer has improved full-screen support for non-16:9 monitors in several patches.
Update 049 lets players on non-16:9 monitors in full screen dock UI elements onto the black bars. The game now limits itself to 10 FPS while minimised, with a setting to turn that off.
If installation fails
Write down the exact Steam error message. Check that you have enough free storage and that your PC meets the listed requirements. Most install problems come down to one of those.
Update 049 also notes the developer worked to reduce the chance that Windows 11's Smart App Control blocks the game from launching. If the game will not start on Windows 11, make sure you have the latest version.
Is there a Mac, Linux or mobile version?
Steam lists the game for Windows only. We found no verified native macOS, Linux, mobile or console version. A mobile APK claiming to be Probably Stolen is not from the developer.
For handheld PCs, check Steam's own compatibility panel. We did not test the game on a handheld.
Why to avoid unofficial downloads
Third-party mirrors and reuploads are not official. They can be outdated, modified or unsafe. You also miss automatic updates, which matter for a game patched as often as this one.
Steam is the only official distribution route we found. The free Demo means there is no reason to look elsewhere to try the game.
The Demo ends at launch
The developer says the Demo will no longer be available once 1.0 is released. If you want to try it for free, download it before October 28. An installed copy may not keep working after that.
Demo saves are compatible with 1.0, but the developer recommends starting a new game. See the Demo guide.
Downloading mods
Mods are a separate download. Community mods exist for the Demo, and official Steam Workshop support arrives with 1.0. Demo mods will likely not work in the full game.
Read the mods guide before installing anything. Back up your saves first.
Buying the full game on launch day
On October 28, the full game's Steam page should show a purchase option instead of a wishlist button. Buy it from that page, then install it the same way as the Demo. The full game is a separate install from the Demo.
The full game's price was not shown on Steam on October 25. Check the store page on launch day for the price in your region. We do not quote a price before Steam lists one.
Saves when you switch to the full game
The developer says Demo saves are compatible with 1.0. They strongly recommend starting a new game to avoid potential bugs. A fresh start also gives you the full 1.0 rules from the first day.
If you want to keep a Demo save, back it up first. Update 049 added a Discover button on the load screen that can find manually added saves.
Updates and patches
Steam updates the game automatically. That matters because the developer patches often; Update 049 alone listed dozens of fixes. A copy from a third-party mirror would miss those updates.
If something behaves oddly, make sure Steam has finished updating before you troubleshoot. Many problems described in older videos were fixed in later patches.
