Georgio is the scavenger who keeps turning up at your counter in Probably Stolen. He sells junk with big names, offers real bargains now and then, brings back the radioactive waste you tried to dump and, at some point, asks you to help pay for his spaceship. Most of his deals are fine if you inspect first. The spaceship loan is the one decision that can swing a run, so this page focuses on it.
A word on sources: community guides do not fully agree about Georgio. One detailed guide describes the spaceship loan below. Another fan page checked on Oct 29 found no spaceship line in its notes. We mark which parts are reported by players, so check the numbers in your own save.

Who Georgio is
Georgio lives in the Lower Levels and scavenges for a living. He talks to you like an old friend and always has a story about where his stock came from. Community logs place his first visit around day 6, with a one-day shelf that included a furnace kit with flux, cheap water bottles, a large kid's backpack and "Georgio's Assistance" for the dumping ground.
Treat that list as a snapshot, not a fixed catalogue. His offers change with the visit, and prices you see may differ.
His usual deals, and which ones are traps
Georgio's sales pitch is half the joke. Community guides list visits where he sells Scrap Metal as "ancient alien relics" and plain bottles as "100% Pure Dehydrated Water". Neither is what the label says, and you should price them as what they really are.
He also turns up with two packets of "genuine" Heminwai cigarettes. They show counterfeit defects under inspection. If you point that out, he admits it and drops the price. That is a useful reminder to run the same checks you would on any customer, which our Augs guide covers for suspicious sellers.
Some visits are genuine bargains. One brings Upper Levels salvage at 25% off, mostly toiletries and pills that sell steadily. Another brings goods from a "secret location", including an evidence loot crate. Security may accuse him of break-ins on these visits, but buying his stock does not force you to report him.
The spaceship loan: should you pay?
At some point Georgio asks you to help buy the last materials for his ship. According to the most detailed community guide, he offers two sizes of loan: one quarter or one half of the cash you hold at that moment.
If you accept, the money leaves your account and you get an I.O.U. plus a Scavenger's Token. The token raises the chance of Scavenger customers when it sits in a display case. It does not call Georgio back or collect the debt. If you refuse, he heads back to the Dumping Grounds to look for parts himself.
The same guide reports that he repays four times what you lent. A 1,000 credit loan would come back as 4,000 credits. The catch is the wait. The normal repayment visit is reported more than 25 in-game days after the loan.
There is a safety net. The guide says he can also repay early on a rent or mortgage day if you are short on that payment and more than five days have passed since the loan. That means a loan is less risky than it looks, but only if you are sure you can survive the next rent on your own.
Our advice: take the quarter, not the half, unless next rent is already covered. A four-fold return is excellent, but losing the shop before he comes back is not. The money and rent guide shows how to plan cash around payment days, and the store buyout guide explains why late-game cash matters.
Why Georgio brings your radioactive waste back
Many players first meet the "Georgio problem" with waste. You drop a radioactive barrel at the Dumping Grounds, and the next day Georgio carries it back to your counter, convinced you lost it. Community notes say this happens once per run and covers the waste dumped before his visit. Waste you dump after that stays gone, so dump one barrel first, wait for him, then dump the rest.
To get rid of the barrel for good, pack it into the backpack you take on the outing, travel to the Dumping Grounds and place it directly on the ground, confirming that you are leaving it. The full process, and safer alternatives, are in our radioactive waste guide.
Liquid Luck days
Georgio is also linked to Liquid Luck. Community guides report that in the normal story he gives you one bottle for free around day 27 and comes back around day 32 with three more for sale. One fan page describes it as doubling your luck for three days.
Keep space in the middle of the front counter around those days so the gift has somewhere to go. Check the asking price before the later sale. If luck matters to your build, our perks guide explains which perks lean on it.
Endless mode
The community guide notes that Endless mode skips the story scheduler, so the scripted visits may not happen on the same days. The rent-day repayment check for an outstanding loan is reported to still apply.
Common questions
Is it Georgio or Giorgio? The game uses Georgio. Many players search for "Giorgio spaceship", which refers to the same character and his loan request.
Does Georgio ever pay back the spaceship loan? Community guides say yes, at four times the amount, usually more than 25 in-game days later or earlier on a rent day you cannot cover.
Should I lend him half my money? Only if your next rent is already safe. The quarter option gives a strong return with much less risk.
Why is my radioactive barrel back at the counter? Georgio returns the waste dumped before his one-time visit. Drop it again afterwards and it stays at the Dumping Grounds.
Is Georgio a romance option? The launch announcement says there are no romance options for now.
